Russia, officially known as  the Russian Federation (inofficially Mother Russia), is the largest country in the World and has so much to offer. Extending across the entirety of northern Asia and a lot of Eastern Europe, Mother Russia spans 11 time zones and incorporates a wide range of environments and landforms. Russia, the largest country in the planet, covering over one-eighth of the Earth’s inhabited land area. Russia is also the world’s ninth most populous nation, it is such a huge country that it belongs to Europe and Asia.

Almost 144 million people are living in Russia.

Capital and largest Russian city is Moscow, with a population of around 12.3 million residents.
Moscow is also the largest city of entire Europe.

Moscow Kremlin, usually known as simply the Kremlin, is a historic fortified complex at the heart of Moscow, overlooking the Moskva River to the south, Saint Basil’s Cathedral and Red Square.

Literacy rate in Russia is 99%. There are around 3 million students, 567 universities and colleges.

From northwest to southeast, Russia shares land borders with the following 14 countries: Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland (both with Kaliningrad Oblast), Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, and North Korea. It shares 2 maritime borders: Japan and the U.S. state of Alaska.

Russia has shores on 13 seas, 12 belonging to 3 oceans: The Arctic Ocean, The Atlantic and The Pacafic.

Russia and Japan have not signed a peace treaty until this day to end WWII, they still have a dispute over four Islands.

Around 70% of Russia is Siberia.

As of 2015, Russia is second largest producer of oil in the world, producing an average of over 9,900,000 barrels of crude per day. Saudi Arabia is the largest producer.

Besides Oil, which accounts almost 59% of total exports, Russia exports also Iron, steel and machines. (source)

The biggest and the deepest freshwater lake in the world ( with 20% of the worlds unfrozen fresh Water) is Baikal lake in Siberia, located a few kilometers off Trans-Siberian railway.
